Opéra Magazine's May 2022 recording of the month: Orlinski in Vivaldi's Stabat Mater

Opéra Magazine's recording of the month in the May issue is an odd hybrid - Vivaldi's Stabat Mater, all 18 minutes of it and if I understand correctly, nothing more, on a CD with Orlinski, and on a DVD, a video written and directed by Sebastian Pańczyk starring the singer as actor. 

The reviewer doesn't want to give the video plot away, but warns that 'its violence takes the viewer by surprise.' The review ends: 'Not necessarily commercial, perhaps disturbing, but so much the better!'

But an opera expert I know said he thought the cast of this Giulio Cesare was 'intriguing' and a friend who's a Händel fan wanted to see it, so along I went with him.
